According to experts at Penn-State's SMEAL College of Business, it's critical to send the "right person" to an on-campus recruiting event, whether it is an information session, career fair, or job interview. At minimum, on-campus recruiting professionals must have an understanding of the positions available and knowledge of specific job requirements. How
to Attract the Best Talent To Your Organization
Times Have Changed, Strategies Remain the Same
Human
capital is just as important as financial capital. As you build your
business, it is always a challenge to attract the best and brightest
employees. Even in a tough economy, top talent is hard to find. In
fact, it’s even harder to attract the “cream of the crop” in a
harsh business climate, which is the exactly opposite of what industry
believes, notes Terry Williams, president and CEO of T. Williams
Consulting, Inc. (TWC).
The key to success is to view human capital strategies as an essential part of your overall business plan — so you can hire individuals who will truly make your company thrive, says Williams.
TWC Accelerates Mobility's National Expansion
Success Story of the Quarter
Listen to any traffic report and you’re likely to hear a business name sponsoring the slot. The company that sells the sponsorships is Traffic Pulse Networks, a division of Mobility Technologies.
Mobility Technologies began as a company offering high technology products to the traffic information gathering and reporting market. While Mobility still functions in that capacity, the company has branched out into a highly profitable, and related enterprise, Traffic Pulse Networks. Traffic Pulse Networks focuses on the sale of 10-second radio sponsorship spots in the 30 major metropolitan markets across the United States.
While the name, Traffic Pulse Networks, helped to position Mobility Technologies in the new industry, the company recognized it was facing a major shift in direction and brand. That’s when company management brought in T. Williams Consulting, Inc. (TWC). TWC would help make the move into the new market seamless. The assignment was to perform a Sales Organization Assessment, provide Talent Acquisition Services based on the outcome of the Assessment and deliver a new Sales Training Program.
The Real "Value" of Value Propositions
By Dan McKinney, Co-founder and Managing Partner, NextStage Advisors
When one of NextStage Advisor's clients hit a plateau at $15 million, its investors were concerned. Would the company be able to continue to grow in the marketplace? What was its viability? Its sustainability? Its ability to scale?
The client, too, required answers to these questions, as well as a strategy for overcoming its stalled growth. The first task - a fundamental look at the company’s value proposition.
