How do you find all those jobs? You "network" to them. And, the beauty of it is that once you've built your network, you never need to hunt for a job again. The jobs will find you. You help the people in your network, and they help you - person-to-person, and personal, not impersonal at all.

There are two basic methods of networking, and you will probably be more comfortable with one method that the other. Using a combination of the two typically brings the best results.

2 Basic Methods of Networking:

1. Push - reaching out to the world- is usually easier for most people to do, and often is the quicker path to a new job (although, not by any means, usually a quick path)! With luck this also leads to long-term friendships and collegial relationships.

You have a network from your days in school, both high school and college. It may take you a while to track people down, but some schools (and most colleges and universities) offer career services and help you put those links back in place.
