Top Execs from United Messaging, Sengen, Safeguard Scientifics, Inc., and Patricof & Co. Ventures to speak at TWC Business Strategy Forum
Collegeville, PA (April 9, 2001) – Human capital solutions firm
T. Williams Consulting (TWC) has announced that Stephen M. Layne, Founder,
United Messaging and Mel Baiada, President and CEO, Sengen will offer
their insights on how they built successful companies at a full day business
strategy forum entitled, “Building Your Company Right The First
Time” on Thursday, May 3, 2001. The forum begins at 7:30 a.m. at
The Presidential, 2910 DeKalb Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
Prior to founding United Messaging in September of 1998, Stephen Layne
served in a number of executive management roles at IBM/Lotus Development,
where he was responsible for all of Lotus's messaging products. Mr. Layne
also served as president & CEO of Computer Access Software, Inc.,
a privately held software developer acquired by US Sprint.
Mel Baiada is one of New Jersey’s most successful technology entrepreneurs.
Sengen is developing new business models for the Internet economy and
provides end-to-end business solutions using robust technologies, with
a creative approach to problem solving fostered by Baiada's mission and
vision. He recently was honored by the NJTC as a CEO “High Tech
Hero.”

those relationships, and managing a select group of Safeguard partner
companies. Halvey’s work has been the subject of numerous articles
in publications such as Forbes, InformationWeek, Computerworld, and CIO
Magazine.
Greg Case joined Patricof & Co. Ventures, Inc. in 1991. He has over
10 years experience in private equity investing. Case focuses on investments
in companies that develop and market enabling technologies as well as
those service businesses that benefit from the application of these technologies.
Previously, Case participated in venture investing at Investments Orange
Nassau. He serves on the Boards of Directors of Bluestone Software, Inc.,
Heartland Automotive Services, Inc., H.R. Logic, Inc., PeopleWorks, Inc.,
supplyFORCE.com and Verbind.
