Rapid Expansion by AppTec Prompts Move to Philadelphia’s Naval Business Center
Partnership with TWC Helps Them Add Top Talent Fast
Collegeville, PA (April 15, 2004) – To support its expanding biopharmaceutical testing and biologics manufacturing, AppTec is making the move from Camden, NJ to a much larger facility in the Philadelphia Naval Business Center. AppTec, a unique single source for the biopharmaceutical/ biotechnology and medical device/medical product industries, offers testing, contract research and development, and specialized cGMP manufacturing services. Their new 75,000-square-foot testing and manufacturing facility is nearing completion in the Philadelphia Naval Business Center, a Keystone Opportunity Zone (KOZ). To support the growth of their testing and manufacturing operations, AppTec will have at least 200 employees at the Philadelphia site by the end of 2005.
To help build their team, AppTec enlisted the support of T. Williams Consulting, Inc. (TWC), a consulting firm that specializes in human capital and organizational effectiveness. For the last several months, TWC’s Outsourced Recruitment team has helped AppTec to expand its workforce by more than 55 professionals. New hires run the gamut from recent college graduates to highly experienced Ph.D.s. Their goal — 100 more new employees by year-end 2004.

Hughes adds, “AppTec is sensitive to Philadelphia’s brain drain issues. We’re seeking to build our team with the best candidates from local biotech companies and educational institutions such as Drexel, LaSalle, St. Joseph’s University, Temple, University of Pennsylvania, University of the Sciences, and Villanova.”
