Through our strategic partnership with the Foster Group, TWC Group offers the Executive Diagnostic to clients seeking a reliable, comprehensive way to analyze how well the attributes of an executive match up with the requirements and dynamics of a given situation. For stakeholders in a company, the Executive Diagnostic provides critical feedback in determining the potential performance and capabilities of executives undergoing a shift in ownership, key leadership or strategic direction.

Methodology
The Executive Diagnostic, developed by the behavioral health experts at the Foster Group, combines experienced interaction with proven clinical methodologies. Unlike executive testing tools, this three-layered approach delivers a comprehensive executive assessment from multiple perspectives and levels of understanding of behavior. The approach, which can be applied in its entirety or tailored to meet the needs of a specific situation, includes:

  • Structured - Objective standardized questions that evaluate an individual's personality style, genuineness of presentation, and emotional factors that could impact ability to meet demands of the job.
  • Semi-Structured - Face-to-face management interviews which utilize standardized questions and testing tools in combination with verbal and non-verbal skills to comprehensively assess the individual's general knowledge and, more importantly, ability to think creatively and abstractly in unfamiliar problem-solving situations.
  • Unstructured - An informal dialogue between the individual(s) and one of our behavioral health experts will allow for an experienced, intuitive evaluation of relevant interpersonal strengths and relative weaknesses.

As a result, clients receive a concise yet multi-dimensional discernment of the executive’s current and potential behavior based on the given scenario, including suggested measures and recommendations on executive coaching or development.

Practical Applications
The Executive Diagnostic is designed to be useful for the stakeholder in a company where the potential performance and capabilities of the executives need to be evaluated. Common reasons might be a shift in ownership, key leadership or strategic direction. The Executive Diagnostic can be applied in its entirety or tailored to meet the needs of a specific situation. Some scenarios include:

  • Executive Selection - Assess a candidate’s capacity to lead in a particular key role within the company; evaluate the candidate’s suitability in the context of the management team and company culture.
  • Executive Development - Analyze the potential of executives under consideration for further development or selected to take over defined key roles in the framework of successor management development; recommend any coaching or development measures considered necessary.
  • Investor Due Diligence - Assess the potential of a key executive in a company under consideration for investment; predictive analysis on the executive’s ability to support change, work with investment initiatives and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment; recommend any coaching or development measures considered necessary.
  • Team Dynamics - Examine the behavior and attributes of an executive team to assess level and quality of interaction and collaboration within the group and its potential impact on the company’s performance; recommend any coaching or development measures considered necessary.
  • Change Management - Evaluate key executives in a company in the context of a strategic reorientation; predictive analysis on how the executives will support the change in corporate culture and vision; recommend any coaching or development measures considered necessary.
  • Post Merger & Acquisition - Analyze key executives in a company to ascertain their ability to integrate and lead within the framework of a company takeover or union.
